Dr Alex Befeler treats patients for autoimmune liver disease, liver cancer, complications of cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. He sees patients before and after liver transplantation and serves as the medical director of liver transplantation. Dr Tracy Watson treats limb deformities, leg length discrepancies, nonunions, malunions and bone infections. He uses innovations such as Ilizarov external fixation to correct limb deformities, as well as technologies he helped develop, such as an implantable limb lengthening technique that uses magnets to gradually lengthen bones and a composite bone grafting technique that uses the patients own bone-forming cells drawn through a needle, rather than harvesting large sections of bone.His research interests include bone graft substitutes, biomechanics of implants in fracture repair and treatments for articular injuries and hip fractures.

Dr. Chintalapati Varma performs liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants. He has special interest in laparoscopic live donor nephrectomies, live donor liver transplantation, split liver transplantation, and pediatric liver transplantation. He has extensive experience with complex hepatobiliary surgical procedures that include major liver resections for benign and malignant tumors, and bile duct tumor resections. Dr. Varma is an associate professor of surgery in the Department of Surgery, Division of , at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the International Liver Transplant Society, and the Americas Hepto-Pancreato-Biliary Association.
