The history of Horizon Hope Counseling began 20 plus years ago when Dr. Steve Heitkamp felt a call to the pastoral ministry. This calling was experienced through his years serving as a pastor in the United Methodist Church throughout Indiana and Illinois. Dr. Steve values greatly the experience he had while serving as pastor for many good people and quality faith communities over the years. During these years, Dr. Steve learned that much of pastoral effectiveness is in assisting people at the most important times in their lives. It was through these relationships that Dr. Steve truly began to value the many facets of the human condition. Dr. Steve Heitkamp truly believes that people want to have quality relationships, but often have difficulty reclaiming the hope which is out of reach. Dr. Steve Heitkamp and his associates focus on individual counseling, pre-marital counseling, couples/marriage counseling, couples workshops, family counseling, children/adolescent counseling, parenting workshops, grief workshops, addiction recovery as well as addiction prevention education.
