Boone Electric

History

Residents in rural Boone County banded together and create Boone Electric Cooperative under new REA guidelines in 1936. Those basic guidelines exist today while BEC has continued a steady growth of membership, we continue to dedicated ourselves to those who own us.

Specialties

We are a member-owned electric cooperative, established in 1936. Besides offering utility services, we guide are members to be energy efficient, offer audits and rebates. We believe in renewables and offer members the chance to buy wind and solar power directly. We believe in community stewardship and service to members.
