The reason I wanted to specialize in pain management was to give patients treatment options and plans to improve their quality of life. The thing I enjoy most about my role is to be able to help patients with chronic pain. Now with advancements we have we can provide pain relief to patients that they may never had received before which is very rewarding.

The reason I went into medicine is because have always been interested in health science and biology as well as nurturing. I felt like health care is the perfect marriage for those two things. I decided to specialize in primary care because it allows me to take care of patients from the time they are born through the end of life. In rural medicine I am allowed to build bonds with the people in the community where I live.
