South Central Medical Center is a medical and health care center. The center provides services pertaining to various fields, such as alcohol and chemical dependency, inpatient care, nuclear medicine, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, home care, cardiorespiratory therapy, nutrition and diet plans, cataract surgery, obstetrics, childbirth, occupational therapy, oncology and ophthalmology. Its other services include physical, occupational and speech therapies, short- and long-term care, community education, rehabilitation, respiratory and vein treatment, wound care and weight loss programs. The organization also provides laboratory and imaging services that include mammography, X-ray, blood tests and CT scan. It offers a wide range of surgical treatment pertaining to dentistry, vascular and thoracic, gynecology, hand and plastic, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and urology surgeries. It additionally provides 24-hour medical care and emergency services to the patients. The medical center is located in Laurel, Miss.

The Tom C. Maynor Rehabilitation Center, an acute rehabilitation facility, was established in 1999 to create a facility that allowed patients to receive intensive rehabilitation and 24-hour care. In 2002, the Center was dedicated in honor of retired local businessman Tom C. Maynor in recognition of his strong advocacy on behalf of stroke survivors and their families. Today, the center excels in helping patients achieve maximum function, exceeding national benchmarks on multiple measures.
