USM Center for Child Development
The Center for Child Development (CCD) at The University of Southern Mississippi has been a vital resource for children and families for 94 years, providing quality services while also serving as an academic teaching and research facility for university students and faculty. The CCD has educated thousands of children, trained hundreds of students, and positively impacted countless families across South Mississippi and the university community.
In response to evolving needs, the CCD has adapted its programs to offer flexible training opportunities for preschool teachers, transitioning from in-person to online formats. Recently, the center announced a shift in its operations, focusing on children ages two to five, while committing to providing a safe and nurturing educational experience for current students amidst staffing challenges.
