Planters Bank & Trust Company opened its doors for business in 1920 in Ruleville, Miss. In July 1920, the bank had total assets of $268,000. As of June 2004, that figure had grown to $422 million. The bank is now headquartered in Indianola, Miss. It features checking and investment accounts, online services and mortgage solutions. The bank also offers several other services, such as wire transfers, student loans, travelers and cashier s checks, direct deposit, ATM services, U.S. savings bonds and safe deposit boxes.
