Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is a public two-year college comprising four campuses and four centers. It offers associate degrees in wildlife and wild lands science and management, turf and turf grass management, industrial arts teacher education, special education and teaching, sign language interpretation and translation, preveterinary studies, occupational therapy, and pipefitter and sprinkler fitter. It also provides certificate courses in landscaping and grounds keeping, welding technology, surgical technology, marine maintenance, and liberal arts and sciences. The college is approved by the Mississippi College Commission for Accreditation and by Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Its athletic teams are known as the Bulldogs. They compete in the Mississippi Community College Athletic Conference in football, basketball, baseball, soccer, softball, golf and tennis. The college offers Pell Grants and other federal aid to eligible students. Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College has campuses in Perkinston, Gautier and Gulfport, Miss.

Admissions for Veterans can be tricky here. Be prepared for multiple visits to get everything squared away to start school. Some Professors are great some are horrible. Be prepared to be nickeled...

eLearning is defined, for the purposes of accreditation review, as a formal educational process in which the majority of the instruction occurs when student and instructor are not in the same place. eLearning affords learners the opportunity to take a course anytime and anywhere. Instruction may be synchronous or asynchronous. The consortium is comprised of 15 community colleges throughout Mississippi. These courses are offered entirely online, usually with no campus component, using the Blackboard and Desire2Learn learning platforms. All courses require at least one proctored exam that will require the learner to go to the campus or to a college approved location that can provide a proctor to take an exam. Learners will be required to show a picture ID prior to testing.Hybrid courses are a blending of the traditional face-to-face courses with an online component. In this format, you will complete a portion of the course online using the Desire2Learn platform and then only meet on campus as outlined in the college Tabloid. Hybrid courses must meet a minimum of 25% of the course face-to-face.
