The Mississippi Consortium for International Development (MCID) is a collaborative initiative established in 1989, representing four historically Black institutions of higher learning in Mississippi: Alcorn State University, Jackson State University, Mississippi Valley State University, and Tougaloo College. With a strong reputation for managing international exchange and development training projects, MCID aims to foster community and global linkages while enhancing international cooperation and understanding of world affairs.

MCID Washington, established in 1998, partners with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to design and implement the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). As one of several nonprofit National Program Agencies in Washington, D.C., it focuses on developing leaders, strengthening institutions, and promoting cross-sector partnerships.
