The Special Education program is a part of the Special Services Department of the Petal School District. The department has a staff of more than 40 teachers and over five speech language pathologists. It serves nearly 700 students between the ages of 3 and 21. The department provides inclusion, tutorial, resource, self-contained and community-based programs. It also offers profound and developmentally delayed preschool programs and day treatment and behavior classes. Additionally, the department provides homebound services.
