De Gruy Woodworks

Glenn deGruy began working in wood in 1969 under the tutelage of Robert Reid. Since then he has taught his son, Rob, to contribute to the family business. Wife Margaret, a well known artist, assists in the design process, special finishes and custom painted furniture. Together they hand-craft one of a kind furniture for homes, businesses and churches. The deGruys built the shop they work in 1985. The Cypress board and batten barn looks as though it has been here for hundreds of years. Their shop is located in Western Mobile County, on the Gulf Coast of Alabama. Along with building furniture, the deGruys also grow a variety of trees. Live Oaks, Japanese Maples, and Cypress are a few of the species of trees available. They also have many different types of bamboo as well.
