Dockery Farms, located in Cleveland, Mississippi, was established by Will Dockery in 1895 as a cotton plantation and is considered by many, including blues icon B.B. King, to be the birthplace of the blues. The farm became a cultural hub where African American laborers, through their hard work in the cotton fields, created the rich musical legacy that would eventually evolve into the blues genre.

The historic plantation features remarkable early 20th-century Mississippi Delta architecture, with original buildings constructed using traditional materials such as cypress and corrugated tin.
