Community Counseling Services is also known as Mississippi Region VII Mental Health/Mental Retardation Commission. The organization was formed as a result of the Federal Community Mental Health Centers Act, mandating community access to mental health care. It is a public nonprofit agency licensed by the Mississippi State Department of Mental Health. Community Counseling Services is supervised by mental health commissioner, who is appointed by board of supervisors in every county. The organization has more than 450 staff members that provide services to over 65 programs in nearly 50 sites, covering a seven-county area. It provides various services, including mental health, residential, alcohol and drug, and developmental disability services and employee assistance programs. Community Counseling Services is located in Columbus, Miss.

Family Counseling Service improves the quality of life for the people of West Alabama by providing accessible, expert counseling services and state-of-the-art programs that promote mental, emotional and social well being. Established in 1970, Golden Triangle Planning and Development District is a multipurpose, nonprofit economic development corporation. Its service areas include Choctaw, Clay, Lowndes, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Webster and Winston counties in Mississippi. It provides meals, transportation, administrative assistance, and Medicaid waiver and respite care programs. The homemaker services offered by the corporation include light housekeeping, laundry, shopping and personal services. Additionally, it offers health promotion and disease prevention, emergency services, elder abuse prevention, temporary assistance for underprivileged families, and child care and social services. It has a craft shop that offers gift and craft items made by the district's senior citizens. Golden Triangle Planning and Development District is located in Starkville, Miss.
