College of Nursing

The Department of Nursing is one of the departments of the Mississippi University for Women. It offers various academic curriculums, such as human physiology, pharmacology, nursing, human growth and development, microbiology, physical education and English composition. It offers various programs, such as Associate of Science, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree. Its baccalaureate program in nursing is designed to prepare a nurse generalist who has exercises leadership in the prevention of illness and promotion of health as a member of the community. Its Associate of Science in nursing degree is a nine-month program that prepares nurses to manage direct care to clients with commonly recurring illnesses in acute and long-term health care facilities. Department of Nursing is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, and is located in Columbus, Miss.
