Venture North BWC

History

Founded 5 years ago by Redeemer Center for Life, its non-profit parent, Venture North is a social venture keeping bikes out of landfills and nurturing community leadership through programs like All About Bikes, Earn-A-Bike club, and our free open bike shop nights. At Venture North, professional mechanics offer a variety of programs for all ages, skills and economic backgrounds that help people get excited about cycling, confident in their skills, and knowledgeable about bike safety. We also employ local youth, teaching them mechanical, business and leadership skills. We are making the Harrison neighborhood of North Minneapolis an empowering, healthy place to live by increasing racial, economic, and gender equity within the biking community.

Specialties

Venture North is a full-service bike shop, offering bike service and repair as well as quality new and refurbished bikes. Our professional mechanics will help you find the perfect bike that fits your riding style and budget. We also accept donations of bikes to help support our youth and community programming. Our full-service coffee shop offers a variety of hot and cold beverages, made by our friendly staff of baristas, and creates a welcoming community gathering space. Come in during our Open Shop hours every Tuesday from 3-7pm, and work on your bike with the help of knowledgeable volunteer mechanics and your fellow cyclists.
