History

I learned my craft under the direction of Dennis Kurk at Anoka Community College. While I originally became a piano tuner to supplement my income, it turned out to be a good fit and was eventually my full-time occupation. The craft requires a good deal of patience and a high degree of attention to detail which is a bit of an MO for me. I spent several years as a technician for Bodines as well as a long standing member of the Piano Technicians Guild.

Specialties

I have been serving the Twin Cities metro as a piano tuner since 1984. I charge $125 (2020) for a standard tuning which runs about 2 hours. I pride myself on the accuracy and thoroughness of my work. I also do repairs and adjustments (I don't do rebuilding, refinishing or moving). I'm happy to give phone advice with you regarding buying/selling at no cost. I also provide appraisals and piano brokering services as well as historical temperament tunings on request.
