Perspectives, formerly known as New Realities, is a multiprogram, human service agency that provides services to homeless and underprivileged families. Founded in 1976, it operates a 22,000-square-foot facility that houses a reception area, offices, classrooms, and visitation and group rooms, as well as training and multipurpose rooms. The agency administers the Kids Connection (KC) program, which includes extended day learning, nutrition, and social and academic enrichment services for at-risk children in kindergarten through grade six. Perspectives offers a supportive housing program that features case management, life skills training, and education and employment assistance. It is funded by corporations, government agencies, family foundations, and civil and community organizations. The agency also provides children and parent education programs. Employment & Economic Assistance is a department of Dakota County in Minnesota, which was founded in 1849 and spreads across an area of more than 590 square miles.
