Redwood-Cottonwood Rivers Control Area
The Redwood-Cottonwood Rivers Control Area (RCRCA) is a non-regulatory joint powers organization established in 1983, encompassing eight counties in Minnesota. Its mission is to enhance and protect the Redwood and Cottonwood Rivers through land use changes that improve water quality, reduce erosion, and increase recreational opportunities.
RCRCA collaborates with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as private foundations, to implement plans that safeguard properties, streams, and lakes from sedimentation and pollution. The organization is governed by a sixteen-member Board of Directors and actively engages with landowners and partner groups to promote education, outreach, and technical assistance within the watershed boundaries.
