The Lakes Area Humane Society (LAHS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1989 by a group of concerned citizens in Alexandria, MN. Their mission is to promote responsible care and training for household pets through education and public awareness, while also providing a safe haven for lost and abandoned animals until they can be placed in suitable permanent homes. LAHS offers a range of services including adoptions, reuniting lost pets, impounding and surrender service, adoptions counseling, prevention education, behavior counseling and training, as well as low-cost microchipping.
