The Ionia Department of Public Safety works to provide safe and secure environment through the enforcement of laws, fire suppression, emergency rescue and education. It has a police department that enforces criminal codes, local ordinances and motor vehicle codes. The department provides residential vacation checks. In addition, the Ionia Department of Public Safety offers fire protection and medical assistance. It is accredited by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). The department maintains a communication center that coordinates responses to various emergency and nonemergency calls. The Ionia Department of Public Safety also provides firearms registration services. It is located in Ionia, Mich.

City of Saint Cloud governs the Saint Cloud Finance Department. The department is responsible for budget preparation, debt management, assessments, city elections, insurance and risk management and the investment of all City funds. It is also responsible for providing financial and computer services to all other departments of the City. City of Saint Cloud's additional departments include engineering, civic center, fire, health and inspections, city council, public utilities, recreations, police planning, human resources as well as economic development authority.
