Malamanya is a vibrant band based in the United States, composed of musicians deeply passionate about traditional Afro-Latin rhythms and melodies from the Caribbean and Latin America. Their dynamic performances and original compositions embody the celebratory spirit and communal essence characteristic of these rich musical genres.

Fronted by Zusel Maria Balbin-Izquierdo, who journeyed from Havana, Cuba, to Minneapolis in search of opportunity, Malamanya has quickly established itself in the Twin Cities music scene. Alongside St. Paul native Luis Alvaro Ortega Castrellon, the band is releasing new original music that continues to celebrate their cultural heritage.
