Macalester College is a private, undergraduate liberal arts college that emphasizes four basic values: academic excellence, international perspectives in academic work and college life, a diverse academic community and civic engagement. It offers 37 majors and 33 minors in fields such as natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and fine arts. Macalester enrolls more than 1,800 students each year and offers more than 80 campus clubs and organizations in which students can participate. The school has a variety of athletic programs, including basketball, softball, soccer, football, swimming and diving, tennis and track and field. The college was founded in 1874 as a Presbyterian-related but nonsectarian college. It is situated on a 53-acre campus in St. Paul, Minn.

Not quite as large as University of St Thomas, but the Summit Avenue location is lined with large and beautiful homes. The atmosphere is friendly and like you're in a nice part of town.
