Located in Minneapolis, HIRED is an independent, nonprofit, work force development organization that provides personalized work solutions. Founded in 1968, it offers personalized employment assistance to unemployed and underemployed individuals. The organization enrolls more than 8,000 people annually in over 70 programs designed to provide direct job and skills development assistance to low-income adults, dislocated workers, immigrants and the youth. Its programs are produced in partnership with the state agencies, human service organizations, schools, churches and other nonprofit organizations and deliver various employment services. The organization receives funding from various government agencies, foundations, businesses and individuals and provides its programs and services at no cost to eligible participants. It has work force centers at various locations in Minnesota, including Bloomington, Burnsville, Woodbury, St. Paul, Brooklyn Park and Hopkins.

Established in 1986, RESOURCE, is a nonprofit organization that operates employment agencies, rehabilitation and recovery centers, and mental health clinics throughout Minnesota. It provides staffing and recruitment solutions for people with physical disabilities, and offers temporary employment opportunities for employees in career transition. The recovery programs offered by the organization include case management, family counseling, relapse prevention, career planning, vocational training, transitional and long-term housing, and acupuncture services. The organization operates child development and mental health clinics that provide medical assistance and health care services, and organizes workshops and support groups for anger management and chemical dependency. It also operates the Midwest Institute for Telecommuting Education that offers training and consultation services for companies and organizations recruiting employees with disabilities. RESOURCE is headquartered in Minneapolis.
