JEM Technical was founded in 1984 at the kitchen table of John and Sheryl Menge. The company began as a manufacturers' representative, marketing fluid power products in the Upper Midwest, with an emphasis on hydraulic valves. In 1986, JEM moved into distributing fluid power products, as well as adding several instrumentation lines. With the additional lines and the need for more warehouse space, JEM Technical moved to its current location in Long Lake, Minn. At the same time the company saw another expansion toward design and manufacturing of custom valves and valve packages. JEM moved into the manufacturing sector in 1995 and provides the Midwest with quality valve packages. Its mission is to manufacture and distribute fluid power products, custom valves, valve packages and controls that fully meet customers' needs and expectations at a reasonable price.
