The James J. Hill Reference Library in Saint Paul, MN has undergone a transformation in 2020, transitioning from a free reference library to a grant-making foundation. Now known as the Mary T. and James J. Hill Library Foundation, its primary mission is to foster and support entrepreneurship in the city.
As part of its new charitable activities, the James J. Hill Center has provided grants to organizations that promote entrepreneurship and assist new American entrepreneurs in Saint Paul, MN. Notably, they have supported the Co.Starters program and contributed funds to the We Love Saint Paul fund following the civil unrest in 2020. The foundation plans to announce its grant parameters for the future in 2021.
