Hilltop Florist

Hilltop Florist & Greenhouse has been growing in Mankato for over 130 years. Founded in 1880 as Windmiller Florist, Oswald Windmiller (a German immigrant ) delivered flowers and vegetables going up and down the steep Madison Avenue hill with a horse drawn cart, offering the Mankato area the freshest flowers and vegetables in Southern Minnesota. In 1935, Opal & Bill Fratzke purchased the greenhouses from the Windmiller family. Their successors, Marguerite and Ed Keane, parents of Noel Van Tol, bought Hilltop in 1957. Keeping Hilltop Florist in the family, Noel Van Tol and Larry Van Tol, the present owners, purchased the business in 1976. It is the goal of Hilltop Florist to continue a 130 year old tradition of providing exceptional quality and value to our community. It is our mission to uphold a strong company culture that encourages, motivates and inspires each team member to be creative, energetic and eager to serve our most valuable asset, our customers.
