Oromo Community of Minnesota
The Oromo Community of Minnesota (OCM) is a non-profit organization that has been serving the Oromo community since 1985. With over 40,000 members, it is the second largest East African immigrant community in the state of Minnesota and the second largest Oromo population outside of Oromia. OCM is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all by providing social services, health and wellness programs, youth development initiatives, employment counseling, and support for seniors. Rooted within the Oromo community, OCM actively engages with other communities and has a positive reputation. In 2008, OCM purchased its own community center in St. Paul, becoming the first African immigrant community in Minnesota to fully own a community building. Committed to growth and capacity-building, OCM continues to serve as a vital resource for the Oromo community in Minnesota.Generated from the website
