The Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, located in Cloquet, MN, is a proud sovereign Ojibwe nation and one of the six Bands of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe. With over 4,000 members, the Band upholds its rights retained and agreed to within various treaties. The Band's homelands, known as Nagaajiwanaang or "Where the Water Stops," are now part of the present-day Fond du Lac Reservation established under the 1854 La Pointe Treaty. The reservation consists of three districts: Bapashkominitigong Cloquet, Gwaaba iganing Sawyer, and Ashkibwaakaaning Brookston.

The Fond du Lac Band offers a wide range of programs and services to its members, including agriculture, community services, emergency awareness, housing, human resources, human services, IT division, Ojibwe school K-12, planning division, police department, resource management, scholarships, staff benefits, TERO program, transit, tribal college, and urban office. The Band also operates various enterprises, such as Aaniin Fiber Services, Black Bear Casino Resort, Black Bear Golf Course, Fond-du-Luth Casino, Northwoods Radio, FDL Gas Grocery, FDL Propane, FDL Sand Gravel, and more. Additionally, the Band promotes and preserves its culture through the Ojibwe language, advisory board, museum, and cultural ceremonies held at the FDL Language and Cultural Center.
