History
Unlike new builds, the ElseWarehouse property arrived with rich history Built from 1921 to 1923 over Bassett Creek, this unique building was originally know as the Serivner Andrews Warehouse Company with occupants as diverse as a shingle company, a noodle manufacturer, a milking machine company, a confectioner wholesaler and later a home for mixed media artists. Distinctive concrete pillars hint at its particular construction. The warehouse was one of the first in Minneapolis built on a concrete framework. This made it much sturdier and less prone to fire damage, allowing it to endure and transform into today's elegantly rugged apartment rehab. ElseWarehouse is on the local and national registries of historic buildings. The name pays homage to the building's history in a subtle, haunting way, while also setting it above and beyond other apartment offerings.
