The purpose of Brown County Social Services is to provide an array of services and assistance designed to help individuals. The department s social services include family and children services that are directed at meeting the physical, emotional and safety needs of children and families; adult mental health services that provide assistance for adults experiencing ongoing difficulties with their emotional or mental health; and chemical dependency services, which include evaluation, intervention and help for eligible persons and their families with alcohol and/or drug problems. Other services include developmental disabilities services that help to find and coordinate services for persons and their families with developmental disabilities and other related conditions; community senior services, which include services to assist the elderly to maintain their independence; and adult protection services, which provide protection and services to adults not able to meet their own needs.
