I was initially drawn to the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology because of the diversity of this field, it combines continuity of care, preventative care, and surgical expertise. I have found that the ability to care for multiple generations and to share in their intimate moments with my patients and their families is humbling. I enjoy the long-lasting relationships that are built with patients, from their first gynecological visit, during their pregnancy and then caring for them during menopause. My special interests include contraception, endometriosis, pregnancy care, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

I pursued the field of obstetrics and gynecology because of the unique opportunity to treat patients throughout their life; the continuity of care is unlike most other areas of medicine. It is a privilege to be present for some of the most important moments in the lives of women and their families. The diversity of the field allows me to practice preventative medicine, follow patients through pregnancy and their delivery, and provide both in-office and surgical based treatments for gynecologic concerns. I am committed to practicing evidence-based medicine and providing comprehensive patient education. Open communication is imperative for the patient to make the most informed decisions about their care.

I chose a career in obstetrics and gynecology so I could take care of women and assist them through all the different stages of life. My relationship with patients often starts with that first visit to the gynecologist and then progresses to contraception and planning a pregnancy. Caring for patients through infertility or complications in pregnancy then moves on to annual exams and postmenopausal concerns like hormone replacement therapy or abnormal bleeding. It is wonderful to develop a personal relationship with patients and be a part of their life through all these new events.
