Broadway, MN 55422 Robbinsdale A Short History of Osterhus Publishing CompanyOsterhus Publishing Company started its humbling beginnings in 1901 from our founder Rev. C.S. Osterhus. He was a Lutheran minister and evangelist. He, like Hezekiah in II Kings 20, asked the Lord for a "double portion" on his life to raise his family and it was granted; he was healed from tuberculosis and lived exactly 30 years more. He wanted to do more than preach so he started a correspondence and tract ministry, thus the birth of the print shop. The first issue of The Bible Friend was published in 1903. The family moved from Iowa to the present location in Minnesota in 1912. The Prayer Tabernacle began in South Minneapolis at this time and relocated to north Minneapolis in 1928. He went to glory in 1931 and his son, Cyrus, with his wife Ruth took over.
