Crime Victim Services

Crime Victim Services, also known as CVS, is a state department that provides medical assistance, legislative issue handling and training-related services. Located in St. Paul, Minn., the department offers investigation, referral and technical assistance services. It also provides financial assistance services related to homicide, assault, child abuse and robbery. Crime Victim Services conducts various seminars on topics, such as law updates and crime victim rights. In addition, the department trains criminal justice professionals, service providers and assists with victim s reparations. Crime Victim Services offers child care, mental health counseling, and burial and cremation assistance services. The department is a unit of the Minnesota Office of Justice Programs (OJP), which operates through planning, public safety and economic security agencies.
