City of Coon Rapids Public Works

The Coon Rapids Public Works Department is operated by the city of Coon Rapids, Minn. The department employs more than 50 full-time and various seasonal employees. Its parks division is responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of park facilities, as well as installation and removal of park equipment, trimming of fences and picking up of litter. The Coon Rapids Public Works Department s utility division operates municipal water and sanitary and storm sewer systems. The department s street division maintains traffic and stop signs and street lights. It also designs and constructs new streets, sidewalks, water mains, sanitary sewers and storm drain infrastructure. The Coon Rapids Public Works Department helps maintain a healthy urban forest by implementing a shade tree disease program with trimming boulevards and removing hazardous trees.
