Face to Face Health and Counseling Service was established in 1972 as a phone-in crisis counseling center. The organization serves more than 2,500 homeless and underserved youths and adults. It offers health care and support services for individuals. It supports a program called Intensive Systems Therapy (IST), which is an intensive home-based therapy for violent and emotionally disturbed youths and their families. Located in St. Paul, Minn., Face to Face Health and Counseling Service has a workforce of more than 50 full- and part-time employees. The organization offers various services that include reproductive health, family planning, prenatal care and HIV testing. In addition, it offers immunizations and diagnosis for chronic illnessess. It supports several programs that include case management, GED counseling and services, and it also helps in finding safe housing, employment and educational options.

Since 1969 Walk-In Counseling Center has offered free, easily accessible counseling for people with urgent needs and few options. It's the only counseling center in the nation to use volunteers as service providers as far as we know it houses the largest number of active volunteer mental health professionals under one roof in the world. Walk-In's 160 volunteer professionals and receptionists donate over 11, 000 hours each year to serve clients who have no insurance, can't get help elsewhere or just simply walk through the door. Walk-In's well-earned reputation is based not only on client services, but also contributions to the profession and the community through consulting and training, partnerships and leadership on emerging issues.
