Brooklyn Public Works oversees planning, organization and implementation of various types of maintenance projects. The public works department provides a wide variety of services for civil and traffic engineering, sewers, streets, solid waste, fleet, storm drains, and recycling. Open Monday through Friday, the department s building services division provides maintenance and repair services for city-owned buildings, and offers technical support and assistance to departments in facility construction. Located in Brooklyn, Minn., it also provides printing services, and administers contracts for janitorial service, elevator service and pest control. The department s engineering division offers various services, including surveying, geoprocessing updates, project inspections, drafting, and building permit reviews. Additionally, it provides 24-hour emergency services and general engineering information to citizens and other city departments.
