Aria

History

Aria was originally built as a three-story Produce Exchange Building, with construction beginning in 1895. In 1909, noted architect Cass Gilbert added an additional story and Gothic touches to the building with the windows and portcullis. During this time, the project became known as the Realty Company Warehouse. After almost a century as a warehouse, the building became the home of Theater de la Jeune Lune when it was converted into a theater in 1991-92. The theater closed in 2008 and in 2012 the historical building was brought back to life as an event venue, as well as an arts and cultural hub.
