Face to Face Health and Counseling Service was established in 1972 as a phone-in crisis counseling center. The organization serves more than 2,500 homeless and underserved youths and adults. It supports a program called Intensive Systems Therapy (IST), which is an intensive home-based therapy for violent and emotionally disturbed youths and their families. Located in St. Paul, Minn., Face to Face Health and Counseling Service has a workforce of more than 50 full- and part-time employees. Its after-school programs include conflict resolution, resistance skills, and gang and violence prevention services. The organization s healthy families program includes financial aids, food and housing assistance schoolreadiness, child care and job training sessions. Youth Service Bureau Collaborate also imparts budgeting, timemanagement and stressmanagement skills to parents.
