(AACWI), established in 2009 by Dr. BraVada Garrett-Akinsanya, is a culturally specific, trauma-informed agency dedicated to promoting the psychological and spiritual liberation of children of African descent and their families. With a focus on culturally specific mental health services, AACWI employs a strength-based ecological African-Centered Wellness Model across its various programs, including Project Murua and the African American Child Wellness and Success Program.
