John and Joe Carlo began serving customers out of the family home in East Detroit in the mid ' 1950's. With little more than a pick-up truck, the two brothers would turn the neighborhood sidewalk and patio paving operation into one of the largest volume concrete and asphalt paving companies in the nation. Headquartered in Clinton Township, Michigan, the company also maintains offices in Orlando, Jacksonville, Ft. Myers and Tampa Florida. Today, John Carlo, Incorporated is one of the largest multi-faceted construction firms in the industry, providing expert services to airport authorities, departments of transportation and developers of residential, commercial and industrial facilities. In the early 1960's we purchased the Fairfield Dry Batch Concrete Plant, our first major concrete facility. Central Mix Concrete Plant was added in 1970 to allow us to compete successfully for major road, highway and airport projects. In the same year we also purchased a state of the art Slipform Paver to guarantee the maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness of our work. In 1972, we moved our headquarters to Mount Clemens, Michigan and established our Equipment Maintenance and Service Division, comprised of 22 full-time mechanics servicing over 250 pieces of heavy duty construction vehicles. In 1985 we purchased National Asphalt Products Incorporated ( NAPI ), an extensive asphalt production and recycling plant in Shelby, Michigan. NAPI was designed with aid of geologist and top technicians in the field to insure environmental safety and provide the most varied asphalt products available. In 1986 we established our Marina Division, developing such distinguished marina products as Algonac Harbour Club, built on the site of historic Chris Craft boat works ; Harbour Pointe, a luxury development on Lake St. Clair, and the beautiful Porterfield's Marina Village, located along the Detroit River. In 1989 we founded Carlo Environmental Technologies. Anticipating the need of both commercial and industrial sectors, Carlo Environmental Technologies provides the most up to date waste management treatment services available. Working with Wastech, a chemical fixation firm, Carlo Environmental Technologies offers a complete soil remediation package for total hazardous waste management. In the fall of 2000, we relocated our headquarters to it's present location in Clinton Township and our Equipment Maintenance and Service division to Bruce Township Michigan. John Carlo, Inc is also the parent company of Trinity Land Development, a major force in the development of a variety of real estate projects in the metropolitan Detroit area. Our own involvement in land development has given us the personal experience to provide land development services with un-matched expertise. For more than five decades, John Carlo has developed into the leader of multi-faceted construction services and supplies in the professional construction industry.
