Your Home Birth

History

After being trained in Texas as a midwife and obtaining her Texas Midwifery License as well as her national certification as a Certified Professional Midwife, Your Home Birth owner and midwife Shannon Pawson returned to her home town in 2006 and started Your Home Birth here in West Michigan. With the strong belief that the world needs more midwives, Your Home Birth works with student midwives to help women with the interest find their way towards their goals. This offers a great array of experience, education and young engery for the families that Your Home Birth serves.

Specialties

Your Home Birth specializes in offering information, consultation and assistance with all aspects of the childbearing year. We serve families throughout pregnancy including full prenatal care, full care during birth and no less than four post partum visits. We offer many birthing options including homebirth, water birth and VBAC's. We offer prenatal visits for families regardless of their choice in birth location. We also have on staff an accredited Breastfeeding Counselor with Breastfeeding USA, placental encapsulation using the Chinese Medicine method, professional doula services and access to chiropractic care using the Webster Technique, pregnancy massage, as well as referrals to childbirth education classes.
