Wright Tool Company

"Wright Tool Company was founded by Maurice C. Wright and Annburr Wright in Saginaw, Michigan in January 1948. They used their basement as a warehouse and Maurice sold OTC tools from the trunk of his car. In November of 1949 the couple moved their business to a location on Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak, Michigan and opened their first storefront. As the company grew, additions were made to the building until they moved to a larger location in February of 1970. Today, Wright Tool Company is located in Troy, Michigan and has evolved into a tool and equipment distributor, utilizing engineering and manufacturing while serving all industries, institutions and service trades including the United States government as an approved supplier to the military. Wright Tool Company ( WTC ) has been serving the market's needs since 1948, building an impeccable reputation for delivering quality goods in a timely manner. We have established relationships with a large body of tool and equipment manufacturers, enabling us to offer an extensive range of products to our customer base. WTC was instrumental in the start-up phase of the Automotive Dealer Programs as developed by Ford Motor Company ( Rotunda Dealer Equipment ), American Motors ( Amserve Dealer Equipment ) later becoming Chrysler's Dealer Equipment Teams PSE. In the 1980s we were asked to supply the General Motor's Dealer Equipment Services Program. Snap-On then included WTC as a vendor to their import dealer programs, Toyota, Lexus, Infinity, Honda, VW, and Audi. With the advent of Automotive Repair Programs in high schools, community colleges and technical schools, WTC outfitted facilities throughout Michigan and Ohio with entire automotive shops. WTC has been an approved government supplier since the 1960s, both direct and via government subcontractors, i.e. AM General's 2-1/2 and 5 Ton Wrecker contracts."
