The goal within our human services organization is to provide loving, secure homes for children and teenagers that have been separated from biological care. Our foster care services seek caregivers and homes appropriate to each child's needs. We provide constant support for our foster parents from recruitment to aftercare services. Many children are waiting for permanent homes with loving families. Some of these children may have physical or developmental needs or require medical care. Our team works to find the best fit between a child and a prospective family. And, to smooth the transition, we offer post adoption services for continued support. Founded 1978, the Ennis Center for Children is a nonprofit, licensed child placement agency that provides foster care, adoption and support services for children and families. It serves abused, neglected, abandoned, and medically and emotionally underprivileged children from poor, minority and at-risk backgrounds. The agency provides a range of support programs related to mental health, delinquency, reintegration and post-adoption. The Ennis Center for Children offers recruitment, orientation, training, placement, supervision and advocacy services for children and families through its adoption program. It administers the Intensive In-Home Services program, which includes intensive support and in-home mentoring and home counseling services for delinquent youths and families. The Ennis Center for Children maintains a location in Flint, Mich.
