Dr. Prerana Manohar is a board certified cardiologist in the Grand Rapids community. She graduated from University of Michigan Medical School with the Cum Laude distinction in research. She completed her cardiology training at Case Western Reserve University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. She is passionate about focusing on education and prevention to reduce the incidence of heart disease. To this end she has had the privilege of being the Medical Chair for the Go Red For Women American Heart Association event in Grand Rapids, as well as being a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association at many events. She has directed numerous conferences on the subject of women and heart disease that have been attended by medical personal from multiple states. She has published and presented numerous articles and abstracts. To promote the message of prevention she has appeared on PBS as well as on local radio and television. She is able to serve the state on these matters through the State of Michigan Cardiovascular Health Advisory Committee. Extending her hope for prevention now from the adult population to our children, she is currently the co-director of a multi-disciplinary child obesity program, and has founded the Heart + Wellness Institute.
