History
We registered the business in 2019 and hope to be open in mid 2020. We started with a vision of working for as our own bosses. We are both passionate about cooking and love to work in the kitchen. Myself and my wife co-own the restaurant and loved the name Vegan in the Hood as we live and want to work in the inner city of Mowtown Detroit. We moved down here in 2018 and found the city is lacking a lot of vegan options down here. Not to say there are no options but many are a bit of a drive from us. We wanted to open a place in the local area that offers heathier alternatives to the available options near us. We enjoy experimenting with food and making classic diner food into vegan options. Things like stuffed burgers, patty melts and Coney dogs are our specialty.

Our restaurant specializes in vegan comfort food including burgers, fries and hot dogs. We are a 100% vegan restaurant startup with fully biodegradable/compostable tableware,napkins and containers. We offer a small seating area with takeout available. We also offer delivery.
