Standing on the southwest corner of Nevada and Mount Elliott Street in Nortown Detroit, The 2 Way Inn is the oldest known standing bar in the city of Detroit. The 2 Way Inn at one time had served as not only a bar but also the village jail, a general store, brothel, dance hall, and general dentist among other things. Underneath the now bright white aluminum siding is a historical wooden salon once know to be the only stop around for travelers on their way with goods to sell at the Eastern Market in Down Town Detroit. The 2 Way Inn was designed to have 2 ways in and out of every room in the case of a chase or a angry wife in pursuit of a cheating husband. Owned by many over the years the Malak/Aganowski Family has now owned it near 40 years making them one of the longest owners of the business. Oldest and the best dive bar in Detroit 1876. Polish owned for over 50 years. Closed Sunday & Mondays. Lots of craft beers, domestic beers. This place is haunted too!
