Farouk S. Tootla, MD, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon, treating patients with compassion and expertise in the Waterford, Michigan area. Although Dr. Tootla attended medical school in Durban, South Africa, where he graduated with honors, he completed all of his post-graduate studies in the United States. He completed his general surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, and he subsequently obtained his board certification and completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Tootla has presented papers and posters at the American College of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and at the American College of Surgeons. Several of his papers have been published in prestigious journals. His scope of practice pertains to the colon, rectum, anus, and the small bowel.
