The Mining Journal is one of the largest daily newspapers in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It features local, state, national and international news and sports news. The journal also features business news, photo gallery, weather, obituaries, classifieds, crosswords, lottery and real estate information. It supports Newspaper in education program, which is a cooperative effort between schools, newspapers, businesses and communities to promote the use of newspapers as an educational resource. The Mining Journal's NIE program supplies more than 3,500 papers every week to over 125 teachers in schools from Baraga to Newberry in Michigan. The journal s classified section includes advertisements for transportation, employment, real estate, merchandise, pets and more, rentals, services, and agriculture. It is affiliated with the Daily press, Mining Gazette, Daily News and the Alpena News. The Mining Journal has locations in Ishpeming, Marquette and Munising, Mich.
