HistoryFamily owned since 1972, With the help of our community we have been able to provide our services for the last 44 years. Ralph Wellman, originally from Taylor, Mi, ventured north to Oscoda, Mi. With how well the fisheries were doing, it was of no surprise. Ross and Jeff, Nelly and Ralph's two boys, both helped tremendously with the business. As time progressed, the store was purchased by Ross Wellman. Up until 2006, This store was primarily bait and tackle. Frequently, they would collect their own bait for sale at the store. If you have never dug in mud for wigglers, mayfly larvae, you might not understand exactly the amount of work that goes into harvesting bait. Now we don't collect our own bait anymore, fortunately. By freeing up tasks such as, collecting bait for sale, we have been able to diversify our whole business.
