The Baker's Wife

Welcome to The Baker's Wife, our companion store to Village Baker in Spring Lake, MI. The Baker's Wife came about after our founders discovered an underlying theme a multitude of bakeries in Germany. The bakeries there made hundreds of Brötchen (hard rolls), Brezen (pretzels), Kuchen (cakes), Berliners (jelly-filled doughnuts), and pastries and these delicious baked goods were sold in the on-site retail store and were additionally delivered to other annex locations and retail stores in neighboring Städte (towns) and Dörfer (villages). We did not realize it then, but it was the Backstubb Bäkerei that gave us the general idea of how to service and supply a whole new market by opening our own annex “The Baker’s Wife” in Grand Haven!
